MOM'S 100TH BIRTHDAY
January 2012
Norm and Liz Haller
- "I wonder why God kept me here so long? she often asked.
- Could it be to tell others what she observed these years past?
- After all, how many have seen what Mom has seen?
- From horses to autos to planes that fly
- to men traversing the moon in the sky.
- From no phones to telephones to cells;
- to indoor plumbing from outside wells.
- From wood-burning stoves to electricity in droves;
- to penicillins and amoxicillins
- that kill germs, once villains.
- From ending war with atomic blasts
- to the downing of skyscrapers by terrorists.
- From praying in school
- to no-mention-of-God is the rule.
- From adding by hand to computers that do it with ease.
- From listening to radios to watching color TVs.
- To see how far technology us took,
- from snail-mail to e-mail and now, Facebook.
